This is the first time I've used the bump map in 3Ds Max and the first time I've experimented with lighting (as last year I was using Maya). Please leave your thoughts.

The Art of Seeing

Brick
Here is, in my humble opinion, a stunning building situated just across the road from Mansfield Road. I love the architecture and the building is from top to bottom filled with bricks. This is where I have decided to begin my assignment.

The important feature for me is the aged old texture of the building and the design of the architecture.
It doesn't have a smell. It makes a sort of thump sound. It is rough and cold.
The surface is non-reflective, so is quite dull in any light. It is situated in an old area of Nottingham and this gives it an historical quality.

Stone
For my second material I went to the graveyard also situated near Mansfield and looked at the shapes, concepts and textures of the grave stones.

Wood
For my third material I chose wood. It is rough, coarse, also dull in light but I like the mixture of colours here. They are not old like the bricks but still have the same typical sharp redness to them.
