Character Madness!

Exploring various mediums of research I have had a good couple of weeks searching around for the kind of character I want to submit for my Animation project. First I went to the library, with no intention to take anything, but ended up finding these...

A strange mind, but great talent!

A pretty interesting read whether you like W&G or not. A nice insight into how they make it and the people involved.

A fantastic book about the animators who worked for Walt Disney, written by Bob Thomas who had interviewed Disney many times throughout his career. The images contained in this book are fantastic, I strongly recommend you take a look sometime.

I went into The Works in Victoria Centre, which was closing down. I bought a couple of books, but this one really caught my attention and there are some characters in there who beg to be made, such as Conker Champion: Charlie Bray or Michael Levy: The Lawnmower Racer :D All real people from all corners of England.

Then I decided to put pen to paper and start sketching various ideas. Some just to practice my drawing skills as I'm not that good yet, others too see 'in the flesh' and make some contextual brainstorms.

Finally I took another book out from Boots by recommendation of Andy Love. This book shows hundreds of different toys and character designs, which is fantastic for inspiration, though I already decided on my character before I got it.

Watching: Arrested Development

Burning and feeding...
