I Should Have the Internet!

If I was at my house at the moment I probably wouldn't have seen this for a long time, maybe not at all. Fortunately we should be set up with the internet by next Wednesday... but that's what I said last Friday so I won't hold my breath.

On my search on the net for 3D jobs in Nottingham I came across this beautiful 'peace' of animation and 3D artwork.

Playground Planet

After a short discussion with Roma I have a much better idea of where I want to take my Visualisation project. The concept is a planet, which holds only an island with a playground. The closest idea in another game I know of is Mario Galaxy where you collect tokens...

...and fly away to the next planet/level...

I also really liked the design of the board game Roma showed in the new brief presentation...

I could place all the parts of my playground models on each patch of ground as a way of directing the player to complete the missions.

Having No Internet...

is crapppppppppppp!

I haven't been able to upload the progress of my work in ages. I thought it was about time, as half of our grades come from showing progress through our blogger! So here is the first draft (with not all the models and nowhere near the detail it will be when finished) of the Visualisation Board Game for Roma.

SPP Assignment

Find an image that speaks to you in some way

I first saw this image at secondary school in an English lesson and it was given to us in an assignment. The assignment was to write a story about who he was, how he got there and why he was there. I took on the assignment with a lot of enthusiasm and really went wild with my imagination. Since then I have imagined other but more shorter stories around the image. I think it's a great image and one that can easily spark the imagination.

Dead Arm no.2

Slightly improved the textures on the arm and wall, and added a few more movements for a 10 second animation.

Animating The Dead Arm

Using forward kinematics

Next week we're covering Inverse Kinematics

Please leave your thoughts.

Bouncing Ball

Dead Arm

Robot Arm...

This is the first time I've used the bump map in 3Ds Max and the first time I've experimented with lighting (as last year I was using Maya). Please leave your thoughts.
